Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year at Balderas Elementary!
Dear Balderas Elementary Families,
It is with great excitement and heartfelt appreciation that I welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year at Balderas Elementary School! I hope you and your family enjoyed a restful summer filled with joyful moments and lasting memories. As we begin a new year of learning and growth, I extend a warm welcome to our returning families and a very special greeting to those joining the Balderas community for the first time.
At Balderas Elementary, our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every student can learn, grow, and thrive. Our teachers and staff have been working hard to prepare for the year ahead by creating engaging learning environments and planning meaningful educational experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and academic excellence.
Please review the Welcome Letter (or the link provided below this message) for important information regarding the upcoming school year:
- In-person support for online registration for new families – August 3-11, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Online registration is currently open and ongoing. Families are encouraged to complete registration as soon as possible so students can be placed in classes before the first day of school. - Late Night Registration – Tuesday, August 11, 2026, until 7:00 p.m.
- Class List Posting (online and on campus) – August 13, 2026
- First Day of School – Monday, August 17, 2026
- Back-to-School Night – Thursday, August 27, 2026
- Bus route information
- Regular and Early Release Day schedules
- Parent-Teacher Conference Week information
As you complete your child's registration, I encourage you to consider our Hmong Dual Language Immersion Program. Enrollment is open to all students and families, regardless of background, culture, or language. This unique opportunity allows students to develop proficiency in both English and Hmong, becoming bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural learners. Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to earn California's prestigious State Seal of Biliteracy upon high school graduation, providing valuable advantages for college, career, and community engagement.

We deeply value the partnership between home and school and believe that, together, we can help every student reach their fullest potential. We look forward to welcoming our students back to campus and beginning another outstanding year of learning, achievement, and growth.
